I was aiming for a Pico de Gallo and I ended up with blended onion puree. First mistake: I used my small rocket blender because I wanted try small batches till I got the recipes down. Well it blended my ingredients into puree. I swear the infomercial showed them making chunky salsa. So it definitely wasn’t Pico, but would be fine for other types of salsa. Second mistake: too much onion. I user a small, ping pong ball sized white onion. And one small, vine tomato. Way too much onion. My eyes are still watering. And the puree is white.
Third mistake: combining everything in one cup. The tomatos stayed near top of cup and I ended up overprocessing everything else till they finally reached blades. Maybe I’ll process tomatos first then add the onion for next batch. Keep on trying…
