I’m thankful to be part of a family that not only likes each other, but talks with each other without judgment or assumption. We don’t have traditions, we have familiarity and absurdity.
I’ll see you when I see you, but I’ll miss you when I don’t.
I’m thankful that I don’t understand the meaning of extended family.
The first time I cooked a Thanksgiving dinner I didn’t own a set of full size dishes. Only a set of six inch dessert plates I acquired for $0.10 each in San Francisco at the closing of a World Market. I improvised by using foil baking cups and essentially presenting dinner in traditional Gujarati style thali.
